Date: Saturday 1 July, 2017 - Sunday 2 July, 2017
Following the success of the inaugural Bristol Nightrider in June 2016, the iconic charity night ride is set to return next summer. On 1 / 2 July 2017, hundreds of lycra-clad Nightriders will ride through the night and help raise £100,000 for dozens of good causes.
Many local charities will benefit including Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and Southmead Hospital Charity, as well as national organisations like Alzheimer’s Society and The National Autistic Society. Each Nightrider can choose to support their favourite charity. Places are now on sale and it is expected to be a sell-out.
As the UK’s first Cycling City, Bristol is one of Europe’s most bike-friendly destinations and Nightrider provides a unique way to explore its well-known sights and attractions. The 2017 route is undergoing an exciting revamp in partnership with Visit Bristol. There will be two 50km loops through the city taking in major landmarks and hidden gems, including the vibrant Harbourside area and iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. Bristol Nightrider is a hilly and challenging ride, therefore a new 50km route is being introduced in addition to the standard 100km distance so there is something to suit all cycling abilities.
Nightrider is gearing up to be the best night out in Bristol next summer. It is a fantastic way to get together with friends and family or team up with work colleagues. The event has a party-like atmosphere because it is not timed and is not a race. Each route is clearly signposted with regular break / toilet stops so that cyclists can ride at their own pace. Full support and back up is provided through the night and a well-earned breakfast and medal available at the finish line. Nightrider offers the chance to have fun and enjoy a Saturday night out with a difference, while doing something amazing for charity.
