South Gloucestershire Council have announced they have joined the Loan Bike scheme which allows people who want to borrow a bike for up to a month for fitness, leisure, or an easy way to get to work, without investing in a bike.
Bikes will be offered for a period of 4 weeks and despite a £50 deposit the scheme is FREE and they will deliver the bike and safety equipment (including helmet, high vis gear, lights and a lock) to a convenient location.
Recipients will need to agree to terms and conditions of loan, which will include undertaking some basic cycle safety training with a qualified trainer upon delivery of the bike.
At the end of the loan period, the recipient can either choose to return the bike (and equipment) and receive their deposit back or purchase the bike and all safety equipment, the £50 deposit will cover this cost.
The Loan Bike scheme is now available to people living, working or studying in South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset.
