Leisure riding

You’ll find new places and routes to ride, from short rides for beginners to long rides for more experienced riders or faster sport rides for enthusiasts.

  • Bath Cycling Club – caters for a wide variety of cycling interests and a full range of ability and age
  • Clevedon and District Road Club – have Sunday runs starting from Clevedon Triangle all year
  • Colliers Way Cycling Club – encourages leisure cycling in the Radstock and Midsomer Norton areas of North East Somerset
  • Cycle Bristol CTC – organised cycle rides every weekend all year round
  • CycleOut Bristol – cycling group for LGBT people and friends in Bristol and the surrounding area, with regular cycle rides and social events
  • North Bristol Cycling Club – friendly and laid-back road cycling group, who enjoy cycling with others who share their passion
  • Portishead Cycling Club – a club with approximately 200 members, mostly from Portishead, but have members from all over Bristol and the surrounding area. Regular rides all through the week.
  • Somer Valley Cycle Club – most Sunday mornings, group members gather outside Bike-It in Radstock to cycle at a gentle pace for between 30 and 60 miles
  • Stokes Cycling Club – cycling group for people and families to enjoy organised rides in and around Bradley Stoke and beyond for pleasure and enjoyment
  • Timsbury Cycle Group – group for cyclists in and around Timsbury, Bath and North East Somerset, with regular weekly rides for fun and to get fit
  • 30 Mile Thursday – a weekly social ride on quiet lanes and cycle paths.

Mountain biking, BMX and Cyclo-cross

Find like-minded people for stunts and mountain biking fun.

  • Avon Outdoor Activities Club (AOAC) – Bristol multi-activity outdoor pursuits club with about 400 members
  • Bath Cycling Club MTB Rides – caters for a wide variety of cycling interests and a full range of ability and age
  • Bristol Trails Group – group that helps to maintain and enjoys the trail network
  • The Cheesy Riders – group of Bristol-based mountain bikers (and now very much roadies) just enjoying the world on two tyres
  • Portishead Cycling Club – Portishead Cycling Club was formed in 2015 with the intention of uniting a community of like-minded cyclists based in a booming town on the North Somerset coast, 10 miles west of Bristol. Rides include Road, MTB and Track.

Road racing

For serious enthusiasts – sports rides with an emphasis on speed and distance.

  • Bath Cycling Club – caters for a wide variety of cycling interests and a full range of ability and age
  • Bristol Development Squad – supporting people who want to develop themselves into better cyclists of all standards and across all disciplines
  • Bristol and District Triathletes – a triathlon club founded to serve multi-sport athletes of all abilities in the greater Bristol area
  • Bristol Road Club – road racing club founded in 1927
  • Bristol South Cycling Club – the oldest club, established in 1893 run a number of events over the year for club members
  • Severn Road Club – founded in 1932, membership is largely from the north of Bristol and South Gloucestershire, but members are welcome from all over
  • Sodbury Cycle Sport – amateur cycling club operating in the Yate/Chipping Sodbury area of South Gloucestershire
  • Sommer Valley Road Club – most Sunday mornings, group members gather outside Bike-It in Radstock to cycle at a gentle pace for between 30 and 60 miles
  • Velo Club Walcot – based in Bath, friendly group rides are organised in the glorious West Country hills surrounding the city
  • Weston Wheelers – small, friendly club formed in 1933 in Weston-Super-Mare. Everyone welcome, whether they’re a leisure cyclist or a competitive rider
