Great Weston Ride announces new partnership with Bristol and Weston Hospitals Charity

The hugely-popular Great Weston Ride has announced a new partnership with Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.

For 12 years this major West Country cycling event has been raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, raising more than £300,000.

But from 2023 the Great Weston Ride is keen to support a more local cause and has chosen Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, the NHS charity for Bristol city centre, south Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare hospitals.

The partnership will initially last three years and will help the charity bring more moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most at the hospitals.

Ride organiser Darren McKimm said:

Having seen all the amazing things Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity do for our hospitals, and also given the joint Bristol and Weston connections, partnering with them was a no-brainer.

I know it’s a charity that will appeal to many of our riders and I hope we can raise a significant amount to help those having treatment at our hospitals.

Laura Hewitt, community engagement manager at the charity, said:

From everyone at the charity I’d like to say a big thank you to the Great Weston Ride for choosing us as their new official charity partner.

We’re really excited about this new partnership and can’t wait to have so many new faces joining #TeamBWHC.
